Sanjay B. Kulkarni from Pune, India was trained by Richard Turner-Warwick in England. He is credited with introducing one-stage repair of panurethral stricture through perineal incision with unilateral dissection and using dorsal onlay oral mucosa graft. He is the founder of the Indian School of Urethral Surgery, where urologists and residents are trained in a 2-day, monthly, live surgery workshop. His center is a tertiary care center for patients with urethral stricture diseases, particularly failed posterior urethral repairs and complex urethroplasties.
Guido Barbagli from Arezzo, Italy is recognized as an innovative Urologist who changed the way urethral surgery is practised. He is credited with the introduction of dorsal onlay graft urethroplasty using oral mucosa graft for anterior urethral stricture. His Center for Reconstructive Urethral Surgery is the first health center worldwide for diagnosis and treatment of male urethral stricture diseases. The center is engaged in educational programs for urologists who are interested in in-depth theoretical and practical training in reconstructive urethral surgery.
