Elsevier India took a small step towards connecting with its users through social networking platform, Facebook in September 2010, little realizing the stupendous response it would receive! But first the basics, Elsevier India opened up its Facebook page to reach out to its web-savvy users, primarily medical fraternity who could be updated of the latest titles, online products, author-events and lots of activities that Elsevier India rolls out from time to time. Within a short span of a month, the fanbase reached 1000 and the number is poised for a tremendous growth, considering the keenness with which people are following the moves!
Lots of action is happening out there at Elseveir India Facebook page. We have already launched MedConnect India portal on this platform. Apart from this, Elsevier Student Ambassador programe has been initiated here. Fans are being asked to register through Facebook to participate in important author-interaction events. The authors of Davidson’s “Principles and Practices of Medicine” are visiting India (at the time of launch of this press release) and fans across communities are keen to have a discussion with them. No wonder, with so many activities featuring regularly on this page, the fanbase is growing steadily with numerous interactions happening there!
